Finished concrete hardscape walkway, drought planting beds and lawn at a PMK Development project in La Cañada Flintridge

Hardscape, walkway and planting - PMK project, La Cañada Flintridge

The backyard is a buildable space.

Outdoor work is grading, drainage, and structure before it is surface. We build patios, paver driveways, pergolas, and retaining walls, formed on a base that holds, drained so water leaves the house, and detailed to match the build rather than sit beside it.

Patios & flatwork
Poured concrete, stamped, or paver. Formed, graded for drainage, and finished to sit level with the house.
Pavers & driveways
Interlocking and permeable paver systems on a compacted, edge-restrained base built to hold its lines.
Pergolas & shade structures
Engineered, permitted where required, and detailed to match the home rather than sit on top of it.
Retaining walls
Engineered walls for grade changes, drainage and reinforcement designed for the soil and load, not guessed.

Cost

What moves the price outdoors.

Grading & drainage
Sloped or poorly-draining lots need grading and drainage before any flatwork, where outdoor projects quietly gain or lose budget.
Material choice
Poured concrete, stamped, natural stone, and paver systems sit at different price points and different lifespans.
Retaining & structure
A wall holding a grade change is engineered work, reinforcement, footings, and drainage set the cost, not the facing.
Permits
Retaining walls over a threshold height and structures like pergolas can require permits and plan check depending on the jurisdiction.

We don't publish outdoor prices because site conditions do the pricing: grade, drainage, and soil decide the scope before any material choice does. Every outdoor project is scoped from your own lot and grade, real numbers come from a free on-site consultation.

FAQ

Outdoor questions, answered directly.

Do you do hardscape on its own, or only with a larger project?

Both. Outdoor living and hardscape run under the same construction contract as our larger builds, and we also take standalone patio, paver, pergola, and retaining-wall projects across greater L.A. and Orange County.

Do pergolas and retaining walls need permits?

It depends on size and jurisdiction. Retaining walls over a set height and some attached structures require permits and plan check, we tell you which apply to your project up front, and the permitting runs under the same contract.

What determines the cost of a patio or paver project?

Grading and drainage first, then material choice and square footage. A flat, well-draining yard costs less than one that needs grade correction before any flatwork goes down. Real numbers come from a free on-site consultation.

Will the outdoor work match the house?

That's the standard we work to, material, proportion, and detailing are planned to read as part of the home. Because the same team prices and builds it, the outdoor space and the house stay consistent.
